The Process Engineer is a key member of new product development teams and will review new product designs and existing product revisions and refinements for manufacturability. The incumbent also offers and supports recommendations for new equipment, fixtures and tooling. Provides analysis to support industry-leading manufacturing methods, leading to higher quality, lower costs and a safer working environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Uses engineering tools to analyze designs to meet requirements for strength and functionality Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs Applies knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials; confers with equipment vendors and solicit input and participation from operators Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements Researches, designs, modifies and tests manufacturing methods and equipment; confers with equipment vendors, as needed Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; tests finished-product and processes capabilities; establishes standards and helps confirm that manufacturing processes and outcomes meet standards Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor and material costs; assists in reviewing production schedules and estimating future requirements Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends Coordinates equipment maintenance and repair services; follows manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requests specialized services, as needed Maintains product and process databases, as appropriate Manages various projects utilizing Lean, Six Sigma and related methodologies Plans, schedules and prioritizes to meet established deadlines Prepares technical proposals, quotations, reports and presentations Investigates, reports findings and implements advanced manufacturing methods or technology Assists with recommendations for new equipment and tooling Troubleshoots and performs root cause analysis Designs fixtures and tooling, when required; coordinates specialized services, when appropriate Determines appropriate assembly fixtures Writes assembly work processes and manpower assignment procedures Maintains ERP, routings and work instructions Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree College Degree Major Desired: Engineering or related discipline Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience: 3 plus year's experience in manufacturing Jigs, fixtures and Poke Yoke systems Time Studies and man assignments Welding knowledge SAP experience is a plus AutoCAD and Solidworks experience Behavioral Competencies Assert influence across a variety of individuals throughout the company in the performance of functional responsibilities Equal opportunity employer.
