This Labor and Delivery unit has a BPM of 120 - 130 and an average Daily Census of 18 LD cases, 10 Postpartums cases, and 10 Baby cases. As a LD RN here your Nurse Patient Ratio is going to be: LD 1:2, Couplets/PP 4:1, Nsy 1:8. The Patient Population here is Obstetrics and you will float within the unit and will orient to the unit by the Preceptor.This Labor and Delivery unit uses: LVN's and Wark Clerks. 10 RN's will be in unit at a time. Special Medication/Drips on this LD unit are: Magnesium Sulfate/Pitocin.
