enterprise. What you’ll Do The ideal candidate will possess strong
system-level network analytical skills and an excellent
understanding of methodologies and tools used to monitor and
measure network and software performance. This role requires good
resource management skills to balance progress on multiple
projects. You will have the opportunity to solve real world
customer problems, and to gain a detailed understanding of the
internals of industrial strength data warehouse and analytics data
solutions. To be successful, you should be a self-starter who has
the ability to quickly learn new technologies and dig deep into
technical issues. Primary responsibilities include: • Apply deep
knowledge of network performance (cloud and on-prem) to guide
Teradata solutions on suitable network infrastructures. •
Collaborate with Engineering teams to update application designs
for new architectures and features that improve end-to-end user
performance. • Advocate for quality application design by
recommending improvements to enhance performance and reliability
across cloud and on-prem networks. • Monitor and measure network
performance within highly parallel software applications and across
multiple systems in diverse deployment models (Azure, AWS, Google
Cloud, Virtualization, bare metal). • Use strong analytical
troubleshooting skills to identify network issues and optimization
opportunities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid
conclusions, and determine root causes and propose resolutions. •
Develop and maintain models to analyze and predict system behavior
based on configuration changes and evolving technologies. • Provide
remote engineering support for internal product development teams
and participating in engineering support for Customer Services
teams. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build consensus
and drive issue resolution. • Demonstrate strong team-player
qualities by finding common ground and solving problems for
collective success. • Work closely with team leaders, project
managers, and other groups (product management, marketing, testing)
on multi-member projects. Who You’ll Work With You will join a
dedicated team responsible for evaluating, designing,
manufacturing, and supporting on-premises systems. This close-knit
team is committed to the success of the hardware platforms
delivering scalable enterprise analytics. Reporting to the Platform
Infrastructure Engineering organization. What Makes You a Qualified
Candidate • US Permanent Residence • Bachelor of Science degree in
Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline with
10 years of related work experience. • Masters or PhD degree in
Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline with
7 years of related work experience. • Extensive knowledge of
TCP/IP, VLANs, Spanning Tree, EVPN, VRF, QoS, etc • Practical
experience troubleshooting issues related to LAN, WAN, and packet
analysis. • Familiarity with LINUX internals/administration •
Knowledge and experience working with routers/switches/LB/Firewalls
on cloud and on-prem platforms. • Experience working with High
Performance Computing (HPC) networking • Experience with network
configuration automation (scripting with Pearl/Python/Bash or
DevOps tools like Chef/Puppet/Ansible). • Experience with building
out network infrastructure in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
environment either in the public cloud or in on-prem solutions. •
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively
engage and collaborate with diverse teams, vendors, and
stakeholders. What You’ll Bring • Experience with computer system
components including processor, memory, storage, and adapters. •
Knowledge of high-speed networking and high-performance storage
including networking protocols. • Strong attention to detail to
maintain accurate and up-to-date product documentation, ensuring
alignment with design changes and manufacturing requirements. •
Exceptional creative, analytical, problem-solving, and debugging
skills.
