About the Role

The successful candidate must have positive experience in leading teams in a very fast paced environment. This candidate must have knowledge of Receiving, Shipping, Inventory Control, Put-away, Picking, Packing and Customer Service and must be able to manage the day to day operations of these functions. The candidate must be able to work collectively with the Sales and Production Teams to accomplishment company goals and objectives and foster OTIF results to our customer base. The candidate must demonstrate sound judgement, excellent leadership, and demonstrate working knowledge of warehouse operations. The candidate must be able to develop his direct reports and their ability to execute in a lean or six sigma environments with emphasis on follow up and results.

What you will do (Essential Functions)

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.

Contributes to the development of operational strategies within their areas of assignment to accomplish efficiency, timeliness, consistency and improvement to warehouse functional areas such as picking, packing, receiving and customer service.

Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

Help create a culture of continuous improvement and execution related to department goals and objectives.

Lead operational efforts aimed at safety, productivity, efficiency, on-time in full delivery and accuracy.

Ensure all warehouse personnel is informed and understands how our day to day activities relate to our overall department and company goals.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

WAREHOUSING

Success: Execute Kush Co's operations vision daily across all warehouse functions to position Kush Co as the premiere supply/packaging provider in the cannabis market. Providing a focus on customer centric service both internally and externally.

Productivity and leadership

Support operational efforts to execute the Order to Cash process to meet OTIF of 95% or better.

Support development of direct reports and oversee the development of floor personnel as well.

Support the performance initiatives of all aspects of the warehouse department.

Participate in the interviewing and selection of future Warehouse Supervisors and associates.

Responsible for the appearance and organization of the Warehouse and it's equipment.

Responsible for establishing and maintaining a strong working relationship with Sales and Production and ensuring we are nurturing a healthy internal customer service position.

Continuous improvement

Execute operational best practices for the department and overall facility based on senior management guidelines.

See assigned projects through to completion to meet business needs.

Drive continuous improvements and visual management.

Execute established safety, security, and quality standards within the warehouse team.

Hold the team accountable for the execution of safety, efficiency, quality and accuracy standards established by senior management.

Ensure our external and internal customers are getting first class service from our team and having a positive experience each time they come in contact with Kush. Solicit feedback to ensure we are aware of outcome of their experience.

Establish a sense of urgency within all aspects of their assigned areas that cascade down to their direct reports and associates.

Project management

  • Participate in warehouse projects emphasizing safety compliance, Warehouse accuracy, efficiency and quality with a sense of urgency.

Administrative operations

  • Execute warehouse processes and provide reporting on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to the Senior Warehouse Manager.
  • Follow EHS guidance provided by EHS/Compliance department for a safe work environment, driving a safety and compliance (lead by example)
  • Execute ideas that maximize warehouse space capacity.

Qualifications Guidelines

Education/training/experience:

Associate's or bachelor's degree in related field strongly preferred,

Minimum of 5 years in an operational environment required,

Minimum of 3 years proven leadership experience managing large and complex teams is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Management and leadership skills including experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and terminations is required.

Have practical experience of quality concepts such as kaizen/lean six sigma/5S principals

Experience with Warehouse Management System

Must have strong organizational and analytical skills

Outstanding ability to build and maintain team cohesiveness

Interest in continuous learning and desire to stay current on industry trends

  • Adaptable / Flexible - being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances

Knowledge of:

  • 6 Sigma, Lean (Kaizens, Workouts, Process mapping), 5S, Quality Control, Vendor Management Inventory, improved productivity.
  • Team value and how to successfully motivate and maintain employee involvement while driving change
  • Organizational skills, with ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and MS-Project skills

Physical Standards:

This position requires frequently sitting, standing, reaching, walking, and handling/grasping of materials in manufacturing.

Must have finger dexterity, ability to use keyboard/ten key.

Able to periodically participate in the inspection of company machinery and operations.

Reach, stoop and lift office files, records or reports, typically weighing 40 pounds or less.

Reasonable accommodations will be considered which would allow the employee to perform the essential functions of this job.

Constantly sitting, standing, walking, and operating a computer workstation.

Receives Direction From:

Director of Warehouse and Distribution

Provides Direction to:

Supervisors, as well as warehouse and distribution teams.

Travel:

Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
