About the Role

This individual must have experience in leading teams and complex processes at our regional location(s). This position must manage day to day operations for all Inbound and Outbound. Responsible for coordinating and supervising all warehouse activities by directing assigned associates in receiving, picking and shipping of customer products. Duties Including, but not limited to domestic and international shipping, assisting with inventory control functions/projects, safety initiatives, department development and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you will do (Essential Functions)

  • Develop operational competencies across Shipping and Receiving functional areas (off loading, receiving functions, LPN put away activities, consolidation, bin transfers, wave planning, picking, packing, quality inspections within the designated areas)
  • Responsible for administrative activities, gathering of data for KPI metrics and assisting with implementing continuous improvement opportunities
  • Responsible of ensuring inbound shipments are processed accurately, timely, and free of damage.
  • Works directly with Purchasing when PO issues need to be escalated and SKU issues come up.
  • Collaborate to improve overall operation, performance, and maximize overall operational efficiencies.
  • Work with the inventory team to maintain a 99.6% accuracy level through daily cycle counting and W2W inventory.
  • Conduct/participate in pre-shift meetings to discuss ongoing initiatives, projects, process changes etc.
  • Controls the priority and pick levels of each order and maintain priority of emergency orders
  • Monitors employee productivity and quality of work
  • Monitor, process, and ensure that all orders are processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Responsible of ensuring all outbound audits are performed timely and accurately.
  • Ensures that the routing and scheduling of carriers is in compliance with customers routing standards.
  • Ensure that freight is being moved in a safe and timely manner utilizing appropriate equipment and tools
  • Ensures employees are following proper work instructions in their assigned areas
  • Work closely with shipping personnel to ensure shipments are dock confirmed
  • Communicates issues with inbound and outbound orders.
  • Ensure warehouse employees follow company processes and safety protocols.
  • Work jointly with support teams to solve any problems with orders
  • Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment, ensuring all safety guidelines and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain a clean; neat, and orderly work area; ensure all security policies and procedures are followed

WAREHOUSING

Productivity and leadership

  • Lead direct reports and actively participate in training/ planning.
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads
  • Monitor performance, provide feed-back to management and employees
  • Some responsibility in hiring, training and disciplinary actions.
  • Support the performance management processes of the organization
  • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with the teams to cascade messages through the assigned functional area of responsibility
  • Collaborate and establish strong working relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals
  • Resolve personnel problems, complaints, or formal grievances when possible, or refer them to higher-level supervisors for resolution

Continuous improvement

  • Collaborate with employees and managers to solve work-related problems
  • Lead assigned projects, to meet the needs of the business
  • Drive continuous improvements and cost savings initiatives
  • Work within and promote established safety, security, and quality standards

Administrative operations

  • Lead warehouse processes and provide reporting on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to upper management
  • Follow EHS guidance provided by EHS/Compliance department for a safe work environment, driving a safety and compliance (lead by example)

Who you are (Qualifications)

  • Associate Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
  • Supervisor: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Warehouse: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years proven leadership experience managing large and complex teams is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Supervisory and leadership skills including experience with the staffing lifecycle
  • Have practical application of quality concepts such as kaizen/lean six sigma/5S principals
  • Ability to train, motivate, coach and counsel others
  • Outstanding ability to build and maintain team cohesiveness
  • Interest in continuous learning and desire to stay current on industry trends
  • Adaptable / Flexible - open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances
  • Knowledge of team value and how to successfully motivate and maintain employee involvement while driving change
  • Organizational skills, with ability to manage competing priorities
  • Must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: they must get along with co-workers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; perform work activities requiring reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (ERP)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Standards

  • This position requires frequent sitting, standing, reaching, walking, and operating a computer workstation
  • Must have finger dexterity, ability to use keyboard/ten key
  • This position may rarely require kneeling, bending, squatting
  • Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • Reach, stoop and lift office files, records or reports, typically weighing 20 pounds or less

Travel

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
