Job Summary: Zymo Research is looking for a dynamic individual
to join our Microbiomics team as a Research Intern! This is an
exciting opportunity for someone interested in exploring
cutting-edge methods and technologies and applications in the
fields of microbiome research and Next Generation Sequencing. In
this role, you will be mentored by industry veterans from our
Microbiomics R&D group. The qualified individual will be
responsible for initiating and completing an assigned project
throughout the duration of the internship. In this role, you will
work collaboratively with other team members to design and execute
proof of principle studies. The ideal candidate should be a
self-motivated learner, an effective team player, and possess a
strong interest in learning about microbiology, probiotics, and
next generation sequencing. The successful candidate should also
have experience in microbiology and molecular biology laboratory
techniques. If you are passionate about directly contributing to

part-time summer internship (maximum of 29 hours per week).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Independently conduct
scientific experiments for product development, performance
troubleshooting, and protocol optimization. Perform microbial cell
culturing, basic microscopy, nucleic acid purification, and other
experiments as assigned. Assist with data collection and data
interpretation Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation
Review, summarize and apply relevant literature and technical
documentation as needed Education and Experience: Working towards,
or having completed, a BS or MS in Biology, Microbiology,
Biochemistry, Genetics, or related field. Recent graduates at an
accredited university are highly encouraged to apply. Basic
laboratory skills, preferably microbial culturing and plating,
basic microscopy, and nucleic acid purification etc. Knowledge of

compensation range for this position is $20 per hour at the time of
